Frequently Asked Questions
- 01No Problem! You do not need any prior experience modeling or painting. It's even O.K. to think that you don't have a creative bone in your body. The portrait you paint has nothing to do with technique and everything with listening, feeling, and pure expression. We're not paint the Mona Lisa, and I'm confident you will have a smirky smile on your face during and in the end. Figure Modeling is also an art form, that involves technique, and you are here to gain some full-figured experience. No prior experience in painting or modeling will serve you well, and your willingness is all you need for now.
- 02Yes, And! Historically, Figure Drawing & Modeling is focused on the nude figure in order to master the classical art techniques. The Immersion has been curated to offer you a safe space to experience the majesty of communing with The Muse and creative collaboration with artists whose drawings can completely shift your own self-perception. You will have the opportunity to model in the nude during appropriate and select segments of our time together. That being said, while the invitation my have you stepping outside of your box with life affirming and positive intentions, your comfort level is also pivotal for inspiration to bloom. We will touch upon ways to incorporate draping that still showcases the figure and additional means for upholding your agency while your figure stands for being Art.
- 03I understand the concern, and trust me when I say, Artist don't care! What you find fault in, Artist won't even notice. They are looking for how light and shadow dance upon you figure. In fact, they are often so captivated, that they won't even notice the dimples, scars, rolls, etc. Artist appreciate the figure in all shapes and sizes and prefer the challenge that come with variation and unique forms. Plus, everyone has a figure, it's how you use it that is most notable.
- 04Based on what we are creating together and all the ways it will unfold, I'm accepting a maximum of 6 Women. If more women declare a serious desire, I will considered scheduling a future date as well to accommodate those committed. For the Private Figure Drawing/Modeling Session on Sunday, June 28th I anticipate 15-20 people total (participants & invited artist). I deeply appreciate you sharing with other Women you consider friends or acqaintances.
- 05Understandable! Figure Modeling is somewhat unconventional in the mainstreams while being quite the norm in the world of Art. It can feel like a big deal to stand in front of a crowd fully clothed, let alone in the nude. It's what some nightmares are made of. One aspect I relish from my era of figure modeling is the space it created to be in my body without any advances from others or expectations beyond the moment. I got to just be in my figure and my energy, and that felt so refreshing my soul actually got to be nourished. Society as a whole also has a tone of criticism, critique, and judgement much more than an air of admiration and appreciation. Artists seem to naturally see the figure and nudity differently, and it does a body good to receive a reflection that acknowledges how Beauty expresses Herself in all sorts of layers and forms.
- 06This is a pressing question for many. In general it is always best to be freshly showered for your own pleasure prior to figure modeling. Your lady parts can be bare or rockin' a full bush, It doesn't matter. You do you, for you!
